Flying Embers is seeking a National Account Manager who is hardworking and a highly motivated individual to manage day to day sales and distribution across major food, on-premise, drug, convenience, and club chains in the Eastern US region. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the alcohol beverage industry with a focus on account management, retail execution, category management, and working with wholesalers. The National Account manager report up to the Vice President of National Accounts and will be the main point of contact for their assigned retailers and will be ultimately responsible for their execution and KPI’s. The ideal candidate has had extensive experience with key customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic chains.

Your Role (Account Management)

  • Manage all retailers assigned with the goal of increasing share of mind and retail execution
  • Develop, deliver, execute, and participate in desired frequency meetings to increase distribution, programming, and feature activity
  • Respond and resolve in-market issues and concerns in a solution-oriented manner.
  • Build, maintain, and update retailer business profiles.
  • Provide top level brand direction including priorities, brand performance objectives or category, segment insights to retailers and senior leadership.
  • Deliver fact-based presentations that incorporate actionable insights to retailers, distributors, and internal shareholders on market opportunities utilizing Nielsen/IRI/SPINS data.
  • Benchmark retailer performance vs. competition with the ability to dollarize the opportunity for the customer.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively on customer specific marketing opportunities to drive results.
  • Operate effectively within the brewery and budgetary guidelines.
  • Present monthly chain impact meetings providing guidance on current customer performance and upcoming opportunities
  • Pre-sell special release products, communicate allocations, and establishes retailer expectations.
  • Utilize sales tools (VIP, KARMA, Nielsen, IRI, etc.) effectively and efficiently.

Your Role (Retail Execution)

  • Work closely with field sales teams to grow share in the market with incentives, crew drives, and strategic direction.
  • Manage and execute Flying Embers national programming, chain mandates/authorizations, and display programs through wholesaler network and sales team.
  • Provides appropriate frequent execution recaps on display, ad, and specific programming to wholesaler and internal field sales teams.
  • Use KARMA as a tool to monitor market performance and share best practices to drive our business forward.
  • Set clear goals and direction as they relate to company mission, vision, and strategies that optimizes productivity and results.
  • Participate in Annual Business Plan and trimester meetings with core wholesaler team establishing goals and objectives on chain opportunities.

Your Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Mastery of the 3-tier system and it’s complexities.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Office, Syndicated Data, Microsoft Teams
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Strong verbal/written/presentation and computer skills, detail oriented
  • Strong judgement, professional maturity, and responsible decision making.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
  • Ability to demonstrate reliability and work in a fast-paced setting, ability to multitask.

Your Education And Work Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of business-to-business sales experience required.
  • Previous experience in the alcohol business required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing required

Physical & Mental Requirements

Required to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds routinely and repeatedly. Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls. Regularly exposed to damp, wet environment with hot liquids, airborne particles, chemicals and moving machinery. Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position. Must be able to travel via car, airplane, or train.
