Our team is currently looking for a skilled and motivated Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant in the Ventura, CA area. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a highly visible role with in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The position will be based out of our Ventura, CA headquarters.

Who You Are:

As the Accounting Clerk/Administrative Assistant you will report to the VP of Accounting and serve as a key contributor to the Finance department and assist with administrative duties. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented and have the ability to work collaboratively across functions.

Our beverages are a better-for-you option, built for the modern drinker. The brand was launched during the 2017 Thomas Fires. This inspired our name and our values. Today, Flying Embers donates a portion of all sales to firefighters, first responders, and the communities that they serve through their nonprofit organization, the Embers Foundation.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform basic accounting administrative duties
  • Manage Accounts Payable timely and accurately, prepare 1099s and process check runs.
  • Manage Account Receivable and process distributor billbacks
  • Support HR with administrative tasks: filing, onboarding prep, events and special projects
  • Maintain a well-organized and stocked office environment and act as the liasion for internal office vendors
  • Assist with data entry, scanning, reporting and customer communication
  • Assist with other office and accounting duties as needed including month end activities


  • Bachelor degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting or office management
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
